TAMPA (February 26, 2024) – The University of South Florida sailing team wrapped up their opening spring debut at home, in St. Pete this weekend, placing fourth among some of the top 25 teams in the country.
Seven teams enjoyed sunny skies this weekend after a mild cold front moved through on Friday. Racing began in Bayboro Harbor Saturday morning, but winds were too shifty for good courses, so racing moved out to Tampa Bay after a brief lunch break. Two rounds were completed, 42 races in all, with great breeze in the 10-15 knot range.
